Aims:

To produce an external mosaic of diameter 1.9m depicting an environmental theme agreed with the Stanhope Street Resident’s Association.

To produce four external Metalwork Art Features to be sited external to two of the three entrances leading into the Clarewood Doorstep Green. The Metalwork Art Features will incorporate the environmental theme agreed with the Stanhope Street Resident’s Association, and compliment the palette of materials and colours used in the overall design of the Doorstep Green and the Art Features sited within the Doorstep Green.

Objectives

Provide a 3 hour workshop for up to 15 community members to take place in conjunction with a resident’s barbeque, introducing mosaic techniques, enabling the completion of individual mini-mosaic projects by each participant.

Collaborate with up to 15 local primary school pupils living in the project catchment area to produce artwork depicting the selected theme for incorporation into the art feature, using as much pupil produced artwork as possible.

Amalgamate community and school children’s designs for incorporation into the patterned concrete area immediately circling the mosaic feature.

Amalgamate community and school children’s designs for incorporation into the safety surface of the children’s play area, adjacent to the patterned concrete area.
